What does Kaliber Autonomy do?

Kaliber Autonomy builds custom AI automation and IT systems for small service businesses. The work covers answering the phone, texting back missed calls, following up on leads, sending quotes, generating contracts, keeping a customer database and requesting reviews — each one built to fit how a specific business already runs, rather than sold as a fixed software product.

In practice that means we start from the thing costing you the most time and build outward from there. Some clients want one automation. Others hand over the whole back office.

What is an AI receptionist and how does it work?

An AI receptionist is a system that answers your business phone when you can't, talks to the caller in natural language, books the job into your calendar, and texts you a summary of what was said. It works around the clock, so calls that arrive while you're on a job, driving, or asleep get handled instead of going to voicemail.

The practical difference is that a voicemail is a dead end — most callers hang up and dial the next company. A receptionist that actually books the appointment turns that same call into work on your calendar.

What is missed-call text back?

Missed-call text back automatically sends a text message to anyone whose call you didn't answer, usually within seconds. It matters because most people who reach a voicemail simply hang up and call the next company on the list. A text that arrives immediately keeps the conversation alive long enough for you to win the job.

What kinds of businesses is this built for?

Small service businesses where the owner is usually on a job rather than at a desk — trades, contractors and home services such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, renovation, landscaping, cleaning and repair. The common thread is losing work to missed calls, slow quotes and follow-up that never happens, not any particular trade.

How is this different from software like Jobber or Housecall Pro?

Those are excellent products built to serve everyone, which means you pay for a large feature set and use a small part of it. Kaliber Autonomy works the other way around: you bring one problem, and we build the exact fix for it. When you call for support you reach one of the two people who built your system.

If a big platform genuinely fits your business better, we'll tell you that on the call rather than sell you something you don't need.

How much does it cost?

What you pay depends on how many pieces you want built and how much of your existing setup can be reused. You'll have the full number before any work starts, and nothing begins until you've agreed to it.

The free call exists to get you that number. You describe what's eating your time, and you leave the call knowing what fixing it would cost, whether or not you go ahead.

Do you only work with businesses in Toronto?

Kaliber Autonomy is based in Aurora, north of Toronto, and will meet anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area in person — your shop, your job site, or a coffee spot halfway. Clients outside the GTA are welcome too and are handled entirely by phone and video, which works the same way.

How long does setup take?

A full business setup — business email on your own domain, online booking connected to your calendar, invoicing with automatic reminders, and a phone system with missed-call text back — typically takes a couple of weeks. Single automations are faster. Every build ends with a walkthrough session where you drive the system yourself.

Do I need to be technical to use it?

No. The systems are built to be run by someone who has no interest in technology and no time to learn it. Every project finishes with a hands-on session where you operate each piece yourself while we're there, and you can call us afterwards rather than filing a support ticket.

Is my customer data safe?

Kaliber Autonomy is accountable for personal information in its care under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA). The website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com, and the optional voice assistant sends your voice to OpenAI while you are using it — it is not recorded or kept, and we keep audio out of OpenAI's model-improvement programme so your voice is not used to train their models. Correspondence is kept for up to two years after the last exchange, and you can ask to see or delete what is held at any time.

Are the demos on your site real customers?

No. Every demo on the site uses fictional sample data — the names, phone numbers, jobs, quotes and reviews are all invented. Kaliber Autonomy is a new company and does not publish fake reviews or invented numbers. The demos show what the systems do, not who has bought them.
